An import L/C is a written commitment to pay your supplier a specific amount on your behalf once the supplier provides bills of lading that comply with the terms and conditions of the L/C within the effective date. The opening bank requires collateral or guarantor from importers.
In this case, an application for L/C transactions is mandatory. Collateral limit, requirements for guarantors and guarantee limit differ depending on the amount backed by L/C. For more information, contact the AM team at a KEB branch you want. You can also call or visit the Customer Inquiry Center in the head office.
